Culture: Europe’s driving force
The diversity of the European populations is an asset, but at the same time it hinders the building of a common identity. Cultural differences, the occasional huge misunderstandings which arise out of divergent attitudes, education and religions constitute a point of dissention whereas in reality, and above all, they consist of a wonderful source of inspiration for constructing a united Europe.
With 224 cultural representations coming from all over the world, proof of Europe’s abundance and willingness to embrace other cultures is irrefutable. We must exploit this incredible opportunity to mix cultures, harmonise our differences and, together, move towards global understanding. The solution is obvious: for Europe to progress, it needs to undergo a cultural revolution.
By focusing on the means and willingness to create symbols and points of reference for future generations, Europe must eventually generate its own identity, blending all the varying cultures to become The Culture of cultures. To lead this ambitious project, a media exists to accelerate integration, a universal language whose contemporary message is one of fraternity and unity: art. Moreover, the best way to achieve this and establish a real inter cultural dialogue is to create an original artistic event on a European scale. |
